The Person behind Stat & Co

Hi, I’m Sophie, founder and managing director of Stat & Co.

I started managing serviced accommodation in 2017, almost by accident. At the time, I was working in lettings, when I noticed a gap in the market for quality, flexible accommodation aimed at people working away from home.

What started with just a couple of properties quickly grew into managing several across Manchester, accommodating contractor teams, TV production crews filming around MediaCity, and professionals relocating for work. It gave me a real understanding of what guests actually need from a property, but just as importantly, what landlords need from someone they trust to look after their investment.

In 2025 I relocated to Leeds with my family. It was clear to me that Leeds was seeing significant investment, regeneration, and infrastructure development. With that comes an increasing demand for quality serviced accommodation. I recognised the opportunity to apply my experience in a developing market with considerable potential for growth.

So, who is stat & Co?

STAT stands for Short Term Accommodation Team, but it’s also part of my name, and that personal connection was important to me when creating the brand.

I wanted Stat & Co to reflect the personal approach I bring to property management. When landlords work with us, I want them to know they’re dealing directly with someone who has been in the serviced accommodation industry since 2017, understands the market, and appreciates the responsibility that comes with being trusted to manage someone else’s property.

For me, Stat & Co is about more than simply managing properties. It’s about building lasting relationships with landlords, treating every property with the same care and attention as I would my own, and making serviced accommodation as straightforward and rewarding as possible.
